  ABOUT DUKESALES

Introduction
Duke Marketing was founded by Peter Duke, son of six-times world motorcycle champion Geoff Duke, O.B.E., and started publishing special-interest videos in 1981. The 'Duke' brand is the established leader in the powersport sector of the UK video market and the company has developed a sophisticated and wide ranging international distribution network, the best of any specialist programme producer.

Core Product Ranges

  • The Champions
An acclaimed documentary series about the great drivers and riders of powersport history. This series now covers twenty-six subjects and continues to grow as the definitive record of powersport's great personalities.

  • Best of British
A series of motoring documentaries produced under the official sanction of some of the world's leading manufacturers. Having received excellent ratings on the Discovery Channel, car and motorcycle marques such as Rolls Royce, Land Rover and Aston Martin, Norton, Triumph and BSA have featured.

  • Havoc & Crash Kings
Thrills and spills are an essential element in any powersport library, and Duke has not neglected this category. Strong and established series like Havoc™ and Crash Kings have become established favourites for broadcasters and distributors worldwide.

  • DVD
DVD provides new challenges and exciting opportunities to further enhance the appeal of powersports for armchair enthusiasts. Extra content and interactive features compliment the outstanding picture quality. The range of DVD products available continue to expand, offering even greater choice and programming opportunities.

International Markets
Throughout the year Duke attend many international markets such as MIPTV, MIPCOM, NATPE, SPORTEL MIAMI and SPORTEL MONACO. We look forward to meeting clients old and new at these shows and discussing further, the many programming opportunities found on this site.

Distribution for Independent Producers
Duke offer a distribution service for independent producers, enabling their programming and footage to be marketed on a worldwide basis, thus reaching a wider audience and generating additional income. For example, since 1982, Duke has published the renowned Castrol film library which spans motoring history from 1950 and, in 1997, was formally appointed to distribute Ford's extensive archive on video.

Duke and the UK Distribution Market
Duke titles can be found in WH Smith, Britain's largest retailer of newspapers, magazines and stationery, HMV, Virgin and MVC, the country's largest audio-visual store groups, Woolworths and Halfords, Europe's biggest chain of auto accessory and spare parts stores.

Duke and the World Distribution Market
Duke products are sold under licence in over 25 countries, via an extensive network of licensees ranging from leading publishers in Italy, a franchisee in the USA, associations with television companies in France, New Zealand and Australia, and developing distribution projects in some of the major emerging markets in the Far East. Prominent licensee clients include Pioneer (Japan), White Star (USA), Motorsport Video (Australia), Independent Entertainment (Sweden) and Cinehollywood (Italy).

How To Become An International Distributor
The requirements vary from country to country. Potential distributors of Duke products should be able to demonstrate a high level of commitment in terms of market research into demand for our titles, the compatibility of a video marketing operation within a potential distributor's existing business and a significant degree of marketing expertise in order to maximise potential sales.
